Dear FDNY Family,
‍
Welcome to school year 2026-2027! It is my honor to serve as the Principal of FDNY Captain Vernon A. Richard High School for Fire and Life Safety, a place where every student is valued, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential. Our mission is to ensure that every student graduates with a clear plan for success.
‍
At our school, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. We are committed to helping students discover and develop their passions, earn industry-recognized certifications, and become confident leaders who are prepared for life. We celebrate the unique strengths, cultures, and experiences that our students bring to our community and recognize that diversity is one of our greatest assets.
‍
Through our longstanding partnership with the New York City Fire Department, we are committed to developing students into compassionate leaders. We empower students to serve, uplift, and make meaningful contributions to their communities while cultivating the courage to take risks, embrace challenges, and persevere through adversity. As students explore the diverse opportunities within the FDNY ecosystem, they are encouraged to recognize the value of their unique talents, perspectives, and experiences, and to use them to lead with purpose and integrity.
‍
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our programs, events, accomplishments, and the many ways we support student success. Together, we will continue to build a school culture where every student feels connected and inspired.
‍
Every Student Every Day!
